Once on the trail, a knowledgeable guide will provide insight and commentary about your encounters with the Florida wilderness.
As you reach the border of the wildlife conservation area, the contrast between ranchland and the wilderness of Florida becomes evident. Watch for native Florida wildlife - alligators, turtles, the colorful wild turkey, white tail deer and possibly the protected and endangered Florida Panther.
Next, you'll visit a floodplain forest and take a stroll along a boardwalk with an up-close view of Bull Creek, a "blackwater" stream of clear, tea-colored water clean enough to drink - if you're very thirsty. The water and plant life also help to clean the air. We recommend taking a deep breath - there is no air in Florida more pure than here!
Returning through several different ecosystems, you'll be relaxed and ready for the amenities offered back at the Visitor Center - have a good country meal at the Cypress Restaurant, shop for the perfect souvenir or collectible at the Marketplace, or sit a spell in a rocking chair on the veranda and watch the alligators in the lake. Take your pick to mark the end of a perfect visit to this beautiful ranch in Florida.
