Ripley's Believe It Or Not In Orlando The Orlando Odditorium appears to be sinking into one of Florida's infamous sinkholes. For over 40 years, Robert Ripley -- the modern Marco Polo and the real-life Indiana Jones -- traveled the world collecting the unbelievable, the inexplicable, the one-of-a-kind. All of it amazing and much of it extremely amusing. His collection is housed in over 27 museums in 10 countries. Each museum's collection is 90% unique and different. As Ripley's ghost says... Change Fee Policy: If changes are allowed on a tour or activity, a $20.00 per reservation change fee will be applied for any change to a reservation. Please note that some tours and activities do not allow any changes. Date changes can be made only if we can confirm availability on the new date. While we cannot guarantee any changes can be made, all change requests must be submitted a minimum of 24 hours prior to the tour departure and must be handled on an individual basis through our Reservations Center. Each of the 27 museums worldwide are 90% unique from the others. Ripley's Believe It or Not!Museums are proud to offer you this fantastic collection of the world's strangest oddities! Ripley's stories of the odd and unusual entered millions of living rooms across America via radio. Amongst the rarest curiosities in the Ripley collection of unbelievable artifacts were shrunken heads from Ecuador, South America. Believe It or Not!, a shrunken head was once sent to Ripley with the following note: "Please take good care of this. I think it is one of my relatives!" The practice of shrinking heads was once common amongst the Jivaro Indians of Ecuador. It was a ritual that had been handed down through generations. The heads of slain warriors were valued as trophies or symbols of bravery. When a fighter killed his enemy, the victim's head was removed. The skin was then peeled away from the skull and hot stones and sand were poured into the cavity. The head was sewn shut and boiled in herbs until it had shrunk to the size of a fist. A trip through our odditorium is a self-guided experience which can last as long as you wish, although the average visit time is one to two hours. This tour does not provide hotel pick-up.
