You'll start your journey by traveling down the upper part of the Grand Canal, passing by the magnificent baroque Salute church, the ill fated Ca' Dario Palace and the famous Guggenheim museum held in Peggy Guggenheim's former home, Palazzo Venier dei Leoni.
Then, leave the Grand Canal and to enjoy the more intimate environs of the labyrinth of small canals where you'll see other important landmarks that include the Fenice Opera House, Mozart's House, and the beautiful San Moise' Church, to name a few. The tour will end back to the starting point.
Frequently Asked Questions:
Q: Do your tour guides speak a good English?
A: The guides are all fluent and articulate English speakers.
Q: What if there is bad weather?
A: All tours operate rain or shine!
Q: Do you operate tours when there is High Water?
A: Yes! Boots up to the knees are highly recommended. There are walkways in the main streets and piazzas set up for people to walk when there is flooding, but at some times of flooding the whole city can go underwater, so boots are really necessary. You can purchase boots locally, and most hotels supply free boots to their guests. The flooding generally lasts around 1 to 2 hours, twice a day with times change with the time of the tides - generally morning up to 12:00 noon and then again evening. The tour operates with high water; your guide may rearrange part of the tour, but tours will continue to operate. This is part of Venice's past and present, therefore the best solution is to adapt the tours to this unique and beautiful city.
Q: Can wheelchair users join the tour?
A: Venice is not wheelchair friendly. If you don't have someone to assist you, the tour will not be possible.
Q: Do you arrange tours in different languages other than English?
A: The tours are in English only.
Tour does not operate on December 25, December 26, or January 1.
